THANK YOU
Before we update you all, more than anything we want to say thank you. We wish we could sit down and express to each one of you how much your prayers, financial support, texts, and/or emails have meant to us. In all honesty, the last couple months have been really challenging. In each location, we have pretty much been on our own and the texts, emails, phone calls, financial support, etc. have been extremely encouraging. On the really hard and frustrating days, the Lord really used that to give us the extra encouragement we needed. We continue to realize how blessed we are with the people the Lord has put in our lives.

Back to Center for Neuro Skills
The last time we updated was to let ya'll know that Daniel was in the hospital. He made a full recovery with the antibiotics. They never were able to give us a definitive diagnosis but the antibiotic therapy treated whatever the infection was. He was able to get back to his baseline which was a HUGE answer to prayers. He did have some hiccups in the hospital but the Lord had a little bubble of protection around him. He had two falls in the hospital so we ended up getting him a sitter to take care of him one-on-one while he remained there. He ended up staying in the hospital for two EXTRA weeks because his insurance took a long time to review the request to return to rehab. After two weeks and a ton of phone calls, his insurance decided to DENY his return to rehab. We then appealed the denial, made a TON of phone calls, and they decided to review his case with new clinical information. The second time around his insurance DID approve him to return to rehab. PRAISE THE LORD!! It was a battle getting him back to the rehab center but we appreciate the prayers as we went through this.
Daniel has been back at the Center for Neuro Skills for a week and a half now and has already shown amazing signs of improvement.
He did lose some function sitting around in the hospital for a month but he is slowly getting that back. He is still working on all of his skills (walking, eating, bathing, safety, writing, etc) and needs assistance with pretty much everything but we believe he is in a great place to get therapy in order to improve. Our prayer is that he can stay healthy enough to stay there and that insurance will continue to approve his therapy (his case gets re-evaluated every 10 days).
Jaime and I are currently taking a much-needed break and are in Colorado for the week. We will be heading to a friend's wedding and then start our road trip to NC. During our time in NC, we will be able to visit South America Mission's home office and debrief over the last couple of months and talk about what the future looks like. We would really appreciate your prayers for this conversation. Pray that we would all be on the same page, that we can leave feeling filled and encouraged, and that it can be a time of reflecting on the good things the Lord has done despite the fact that it has been extremely challenging. Have a wonderful Christmas with your friends and family! More information to come in the New Year!!
